Let's work quickly and with purpose, capturing the essence of flowers in one session, alla prima painting. Work will include:
Identifying major shapes and shifts in space;
using vanishing and firm edges to establish structure and atmosphere;
mixing luminous color and related neutrals to create vibrant paintings.
We will use observation to create inventive and personal paintings, liberating our work from just copying what we see, to creating a painting that encompasses personal expression, emotional responsiveness to nature, and spontaneity in mark making.
In each session, Amy will present images related to the topic at hand, then complete an oil painting demo and provide assignments between sessions. Participants can post their paintings (optional) to the general topic community.
Oil, acrylic, pastel mediums welcome. All levels encouraged.
All sessions are recorded; participants have lifetime access!

Two hour recording of session 3. Note that during the beginning few and ending few minutes, the Zoom spotlight of Amy had a malfunction. She is easily visible and audible, but the spotlight on her included other blank participant boxes around her.
