Online workshops are added throughout the year. Sign up for them prior to the date in order to attend them live, but you can also register and watch them anytime after the workshop has concluded. Ongoing access to all materials!
Live workshops also include access to a private community forum where you can post images from your assignments and get written feedback and suggestions from Amy. It’s a great forum to continue to learn from Amy but also from other participants.
This four session workshop explores the role of light and shadow in your paintings, as well as when and how to use or subtract edges in order to create a sense of atmosphere. Each week we will cover a different genre (landscape, flowers, still life, interiors) to see how these strategies can be employed to create paintings that are spacious, interesting, and made with conviction.
During each session, Amy covers these concepts with the four genres, assigns specific actions to practice and complete a painting each week. Amy demos in oil but acrylic and watercolor painters are welcome.
Each session is recorded and participants have ongoing access.
A private space is made just for this workshop and everyone can post assignments, paintings, and questions. Amy provides feedback for all work submitted.
