Amy demonstrates how to use light, shadows, and edges to facilitate atmosphere in landscape painting. The recording includes a 1.5 hour demo, using a single color sketch using earth tones, a sketch using complementary colors (blue and orange) and a primary sketch using primary colors.

Assignment:
1) Use flower images OR your own
2) Make a single color study using a dark earth tone hue of your choice (Van Dyke Brown, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Red Oxide, Yellow Oxide). Small studies are great. 6 x 8, 8 x 8 for example
3) Make a complementary color sketch. Same sizes as above
4)Make a simple primary palette painting. Same size or larger. Try not to spend longer than an hour on the final painting.
