What people are saying about Amy's Art Workshops
I have taken several classes from Amy. They are my favorite. She is gifted in her teaching style and clearly explains what she is doing and why as she demos a painting. She gives much thought to her reference photos and is generous in sharing them. And most of all, her comments on student paintings are very thorough, kind, and helpful. And, she is a lovely person.
I have attended a few of Amy’s Workshops now and enjoy them thoroughly. Amy has a gentle, clear and concise teaching manner. Her paintings speak for themselves- fabulous! Amy is very thorough and searching in her critique of the participants' art.
Thrilled to find Amy’s class after a long spell of not painting. With her instruction I was able to build up my confidence and start painting again. Amy is a wealth of information not to mention talented.
Amy is an amazing instructor. Her positive and encouraging (and specific) feedback are invaluable, no matter what your level of expertise. Her open sharing of the process of painting, the struggles and joys, are inspirational. Her beautiful vibrant paintings speak for themselves. I’ve grown a lot through Amy’s classes and strongly encourage artists to participate in her generous sharing of her knowledge and skill.
I’ve taken several online courses with Amy and one recently in person. Her talent as an artist is equal to her outstanding talent as a teacher. She conveys both complex and practical information clearly and concisely, in a very relatable way. Amy’s classes are also fun and enlivening. She knows how to raise the bar with insightful comments but also eaves space for personal growth in one’s work. She is extremely approachable, and shares her own painting experience with self-deprecating humor. I always leave her classes inspired!
I first admired Amy’s work at The Left Bank Gallery in Wellfleet, MA. Her topics (landscapes, flowers, interiors) and style (fluid, expressive, dynamic, vibrant), spoke to me. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Amy teaches art.
I continue to learn new skills in Amy’s classes from color mixing to painting from photos to tips on transparency. But the biggest take-away may be to “be yourself.” Amy encourages originality. The idea is not to copy the perfect bouquet, landscape, or sunset; it’s to make them your own.
Amy’s classes are always fun. She is incredibly kind and her feedback is encouraging. Nowadays Amy teaches on Zoom and in person. I recommend both.
