Session 1: Introduction to oil painting materials (paints, surface, brushes, medium, thinner, working with black and white, establishment of five value scale). Demo in black and white.
Session 2: Nature and creation. Look at still life forms, Amy creates a basic still life that establishes major forms, and uses strong light and shadow. Demo with a primary palette.
Session 3: Follow up from previous session. Utilize a color wheel using a primary palette (selected by live audience). Amy completes two demos, one 45 minutes and one 20 minutes. The use of single color flowers and major shapes of light and shadow round out the lesson.
